Hydrogen bulk Storage Task Force (part of RCSS WG)
Description
-
The Bulk Storage Task Force aims to perform an RCS gaps assessment and identify critical areas for R&D and for RCS changes to enable bulk storage of hydrogen. Through collaboration, the RCSSWG aims to share information, lessons learned and best practices with a focus on hydrogen safety, as well as the harmonization of codes and standards developed by relevant industry code and standards development organizations.
-
Scope of work includes regulations, codes and standards gap assessment in the following areas:
-
Storage Medium: storing Hydrogen as a gas, liquid, ammonia or liquid organic carrier (LOHC)
-
Storage Location: underground caverns, underground tanks, above ground tanks
-
Deployment Barriers: challenges and barriers to the bulk storage of hydrogen in its various forms/medium
-
R&D: identify critical areas for further R&D and for RCS changes to enable bulk storage
