IPHE Membership

Membership

IPHE currently comprises 27 member countries and the European Commission, representing a broad range of regions, hydrogen markets, and policy perspectives. Together, they represent more than 80% of global GDP, and most of the hydrogen production and consumption. Members work to strengthen international cooperation, exchange knowledge and best practices, and advance the sustainable deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies worldwide, contributing to the development of internationally relevant guidance, reports, and collaborative initiatives addressing key opportunities and challenges across the hydrogen value chain.

Become a Member

Membership is open to national governments that share IPHE's objectives and are committed to advancing international cooperation on hydrogen and fuel cells. Interested governments are invited to contact the IPHE Secretariat to learn more about the membership process and opportunities for engagement.

Becoming an IPHE member

Any country is welcome to join IPHE as long as the following can be demonstrated:

 

  1. A substantial, long-term resource commitment to hydrogen and fuel cell technology research and development activities;

  2. A well-defined vision and national strategy to advance technology deployment and infrastructure development; and

  3. A commitment reflected in policies and strategies that effectively advance private sector development of hydrogen and fuel cells in the economy.

Members also commit to actively participate in the Steering Committee meetings and in at least one or more of the Working Groups or Task Forces. Please see the IPHE Terms of Reference at Who we are.
