Hydrogen Skills Task Force

Description

  • The Hydrogen Skills Task Force (H2Skills-TF) brings together experts from IPHE member countries to support the development of the skilled workforce needed for the growing hydrogen economy. Through international collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Task Force develops practical guidance and tools to help governments, industry, education and training providers, and other stakeholders assess workforce needs, strengthen education and training systems, and promote inclusive workforce development.

  • The Task Force aims to:

    • Facilitate international collaboration and knowledge sharing on hydrogen workforce development;

    • Support countries in assessing hydrogen skills needs and workforce demand;

    • Share good practices in hydrogen education and training;

    • Promote inclusive approaches to workforce development; and

    • Develop practical resources that support evidence-based workforce planning and skills development.

  • Since its establishment, the Task Force has developed a comprehensive suite of resources to support countries in preparing the workforce for the hydrogen economy. These include guidance on workforce estimation, education and training, and inclusive workforce development, complemented by an interactive database of hydrogen job roles and skills requirements. Together, these resources provide practical support for policymakers, industry, education providers and researchers.

  • The Task Force is led by South Africa and Costa Rica.
