- 02Update: June 2026 The Costa Rican government presented a document titled Updated 2026-2030 Action Plan for the National Decarbonization Plan in April 2026. It includes targets for electric mobility, zero-emission cargo transportation with green hydrogen, decarbonization of industry processes, low-carbon agriculture and other areas. It is compliant with Costa Rica’s NDC targets presented during COP30 in Brazil in 2025.

- 04Update: June 2026 Ad Astra’s upgraded H35 generation and compression module will start operations as part of Costa Rica’s H2 Ecosystem in July, 2026. Group 6 of the Hydrogen School will complete training in May 2026, totalling the first 13 students graduated from the program. First donated fuel-cell bus has been completely recommissioned and is now road-worthy, this being the first time in LATAM such a project has been successfully completed.
- 05Update: June 2026 Ad Astra and the Center for Hydrogen Safety are in the initial stages of planning a Central American Symposium on Hydrogen Safety for 2027.
- 06Update: June 2026 EUR 25 million approved (2024) for the Mitigation Action Facility's (MAF) "Green Hydrogen for a Decarbonized Economy in Costa Rica" program. $10 million for ProNova Energy’s 1 MW project (2027). $3.2M in private equity $2.65M in debt $4.8M in MAF grants
- 07Updated November 2024 The National Technical Committee on hydrogen-related standards has continued working towards the adoption of new hydrogen- and fuel-cell- related hydrogen technical standards.
